Abstract EN

General history books have recorded for us heroic actions, wars, and battles, as well as the rise of states and decline of others.

however, they have left a noticeable gap regarding the other life's aspects, namely : social, economical, and cultural lives.

the aforementioned gap would not be bridged without the invention of biographical books that brought a huge amount of informations with regards of those scholars who lived and took part in the scientific and cultural movement, and allow in consequence capturing a thorough picture of the historical reality of a specific era.

the aim the present paper is to asses from a statistical standpoint the contribution of the central Maghreb's scholars in the scientific and cultural scene in the eyes of Egyptian and Andalusia's biographical doctrines.

the choice was settled on two samples : Durar al Kamina Fi A'yani al Miati Thamina written by Ibn Hadjar el Askalani for the side of Egyptians, and Ibn al Abar's book Kitab al Takmilah li Kitab al Silah on the behalf of Andalusians.

the statistical study was curried out using Microsoft excel software, known for its precision and reliability for such studies, as well as its valuable automatic capabilities that enable the use of the current study for future works with only few updates.

the second stage of the paper deals with comparison and results' discussions.

the results showed the flagrant scarcity in biographies of central Maghreb's scholars with only 0.5 % in first sample and 1.9 % in the second compared with their peers from others areas.

furthermore, the dominance of the el Fikh and el hadith over the other sciences was clearly observed.
