Abstract EN

This study focuses on trying to highlight the positive nature of the philosophical accountability of Western modernist literature to the Canadian philosopher Charles Taylor by referring to the subjects studied by this literature.

Taylor sought to restore certain concepts, such as identity, life and time, as clearly expressed in the best-known literary texts of novels and stories, and presented them with other specific perceptions and characteristics as being the most present and rooted in his philosophy.

it must be said, however, that it places us in the context of an understanding and critical view of Western modernist societies associated with many transformations of an individual, cultural and economic dimension.

it is through this research that we have addressed an important aspect of Taylor's philosophy in the field of literature, which has been ignored and forgotten in many of the work on his philosophy, therefore, the legitimacy of this failure should be questioned in the future of days.

hence the importance of our research in illuminating this space of Taylor's thought, in which we must move between two different poles of words and thought, and in reality trying to illustrate the common intersections of both literature and philosophy.
