This research aims to trace the modernist features manifested in the poetry of Abu Al-Hasan Al-Shashtari, as Sufi poetry is replete with rich and chunky semantic displacements that achieve a semantic dimension that reflects the impact and the modern dimension in Sufi poetry and in Al-Shushtari's poetry in particular.

We know that Al-Shashtari's poetry is an ancient modernity in which the features of "modernity" are embodied.

Mystery, vision, revelation, astonishment, openness of the text, difference, and rebellion against ancient poetic forms.

And from that, we conclude that there is a relationship of influence between modernity and Sufi literature, as modernity benefited and was affected by Sufi literature, which in turn influenced it.
