Abstract EN

This study is an attempt to build a standard model to explore the agricultural sector's contribution on the diversification of the Algerian economy for the period of 2000-2020.

the agricultural sector is a strategic branch of the economy that has great potential to break out of the economic dependence.

the results show positive impact and relationship between the agricultural sector and GDP in Algeria, with a one-way causal relationship.

we also found that the contribution of the agricultural sector to GDP is still far from the required level, if we consider the potential of the Algerian economy and the government’s efforts on agreements and reforms.
