Global trade witnessed expansion and prosperity, which resulted in the openness of markets, the diversification of means of transport, the entry of many elements, individuals and institutions, and the multiplicity of shipping and insurance documents, which led to the emergence of fraud and fraud in all stages of the insurance process, in different forms and in varying proportions, starting from the stage of subscription and issuance of the document until the stage of estimating compensation Claims are paid, and fraud may occur on the part of the insured or with the assistance of several parties, whether from inside or outside the company.

This study aims to research the methods of fraud used by the insured in maritime transport, identify it and analyze its different forms in the insurance market, especially since fraud affects insurance companies negatively in several directions, most notably the high volume of losses that they bear, and the impact on profits, returns and prices of marine insurance services.
