Abstract EN

The present study aims to demonstrate the contribution of the digital economy in achieving economic growth in Algeria during the period 2000-2020, through its main and pivotal sector, which is information and communication technology since Algerian economy is using effective, developed, and accelerated knowledge of the information and communication technology in most economic activities.

theoretically, we concluded that there is a positive relationship between the digital economy through the information and communication technology sector and economic growth.

in practice, we found a weak direct contribution of the information and communication technology sector to achieving economic growth in Algeria, on one hand, while noting the difficulty of studying the indirect contribution on the other hand.
