Abstract EN

This study aims to focus the light on a subject among economical and social studies of Algeria during the ottoman period which consisted the taxing system and its social effects on the society which was considered as one of the most essential pillars of the economical undertaking in the country and an important part to understand the political, economical and the social history.

however, taxing represented a big resource for the Algerian government treasury, especially after the shortage of the booties of the many wars and also the shortage of the financial resources due to the weakness of the Algerian navy rule the last ottoman period after it had been one of the main financial resources of the government treasury and gathering taxes had become from the principal duties of the ottoman administration because through that the kind of relation between the authority and the people.

so the ottoman country had founded the taxing policy in the Titri district the same as in the other ones and being increased in them with their diversity and their difference according to the zones and the parts and that was according to precised laws and parameters so the value of the taxes was precised according to the nature of the economical activity of each tribe and this in order to lighten the financial shortage of the country treasury, but this may involve us to ask an important question about the means of gathering the taxes during the last ottoman period in the Titri district ? and about the people's reaction towards that ? and what were the main economical, social and political effects caused by that ?
