Women were and still are in our Arab society in general and Algerian one in particular, being stereotypically governed, whether in terms of description or in terms of the function performed in society.

this is an image that appears through gender differentiation derived from the social and cultural inventory, where man occupies a high position in the Arab society that allows him to dominate this vulnerable woman who suffer from a lack of reason and religion.

these practices are fed by a historical memory surrounded by illusions and perceptions deeply rooted in the collective memory, some of them are related to religious interpretations that were distorted or far from the true meaning, and some of them are related to political or social conditions that are still ingrained in the Arab imagination, whether in poetry or prose.

this study aims to identify the image of women in Algerian society through what have people inherited as religious legacy and artistic works of poets who used popular dialects that express the simple environment of the society.
