The study addresses the issue of the impact of new technologies on contractual practices in the field of electronic translation, especially with regard to the obligations of the translator, as the latter is considered an author within the framework of the literary and artistic property law.

on this basis, the contracts he concludes with the publisher for the achievement and exploitation of the translation are considered contracts for the author, which the legislator has given a protective character as the translator is the weak party to the contract.

the emergence of digitization and the dominance of electronic commerce over various areas of life have led to the emergence of new types of translation fields, in addition to the traditional fields that have also been affected by the presence of the internet.

thus, this paper aims to clarify the impact of digitization and e-contracting on translation works, especially with regard to the obligations and rights of the translation author as a weak party to the contract concluded with the publisher, as well as identifying the adequacy of the current legal texts regulating the translation contract, and the translator's obligations to regulate this new type of contract and electronically executed obligations.

among the most important findings of the study : the fact that digitization affects the obligations of the translation author and the fields of translation, and its impact also on some principles enshrined in copyright law, even if the content of the current legal rules regulating the translation contract and publishing contracts in general is not intended to accommodate all kinds of practices.
