This study seeks to clarify the relationship between the constitutional amendment and the democratic transition in Algeria, by focusing on the constitutional amendment for the year 2020, by exposing the various arrangements, procedures and processes used in its approval, whether it is related to the circumstances and the reasons for which it was established or regarding the nature of its contents or the desired goals and objectives.

the continuation of the path in the course of this amendment, as it was partial and unilateral reforms linked to current circumstances, while the historical moment (the popular movement) was an opportunity to include comprehensive and consensual amendments that actually serve the desired project of democratic transition.
