In the 19Th century, the kabylian society had resisted the French colinisation in different ways.

This has been shown in the traditional kabilyian poetry, that has been discovered in the form of manual scripts like in the works of H.

Umbert in 1723, and W.

Hudgson in 1829, or what had been printed into books like the works of A.

Hanoteau in 1867.

These poems had shown and revealed the different faces of resistance that fell with the period of war and revolutions, in which many souls lost their lives, who resisted inorder to protect the religious values and beliefs that protect the identity of the Algerian people, resistance in the mind of the kabylian and all what is related to this concept, is considered significant in the kabylian society like the raised nose and manhood.
