Abstract EN

This study aimed to analyze the role of agricultural products in supporting Algerian exports outside hydrocarbons.

In an attempt to determine the available alternatives towards perpetuating the thought of economic diversification and getting rid of dependence on hydrocarbon rents.

By analyzing the available statistics on foreign trade, agricultural exports, and the most important exported Algerian agricultural commodities.

The study concluded that the dates division is the optimal sustainable alternative that would generate returns from foreign exchange for its export due to the productive and commercial capabilities that Algeria possesses.

It remains for Algeria to support this alternative with a number of mechanisms such as: increasing the exported quantities, renegotiating its pricing, financial and tax stimulus for producers, activating international marketing tools, fighting contraband, and providing infrastructure and logistical for export.
