Abstract EN

This study aims at identifying the reasons behind the increasing cancellation cases of Chinese merger and acquisition operations by host countries, through identifying the characteristics of these operations as well as the nature of host countries' reaction toward them.

the findings of this study indicated that the rapid growth of these operations' scale over a short period, their focus on seeking the strategic assets, the role of Chinese government in guiding them, and the special approaches used in their implementation; are the characteristics that have raised the concerns of host countries and led them to establish restrictive policies against these operations and to cancel them under the justifications of threatening the national security.
