Zhour Ounissi's story "The Extended Shadows" is an image of the feminine transformation from the stereotypes to the resistance and social-national sense.

This article aims to monitor the female protagonist's transformation from the Ignorant, marginalized housewife, into another self who is more aware of the crisis of the Algerian youth recruitment by the coloniser.

Through the discourse of retrospective memory, the writer established a journey of awareness, within a social vision, launching from herself and rising up against Patriarchy that undermines women.

The most important results were: the protagonist's awareness was born inside a crisis, where being a part of an ignorant society does not mean giving up changing, for the journey of the female self-awareness starts from the existing awareness to the possible awareness.
