Abstract EN

Arab geographical literature is one of the many forms of artistic writing in the ancient Arab heritage that has been neglected by modern and contemporary Arab criticism.

This literature is brought to light by the Russian orientalist Ignatius Krachkovsky and The Frenchman Andre Miquel, the first through his book (The History of Arab Geographical Literature), and the second through a series (Studies in Human Geography in The Ar), the first book bears a summary of the views of orientalists in the first half of the twentieth century, and the Meckel critical series represents a summary of their opinions in the other half.

The efforts of these two orientalists in the conceptual definition of Arab geographical literature are represented in introducing many of its writers, with the definition of many literary works, in addition to identifying the most important geographical topics addressed by these works and their owners, such as describing the routes, kingdoms, Arab geographical journeys, and human geography that deals with man in his relationship with the environment.
