The study of manuscripts that related to medicine and pharmacology is of interest to the study of the history of science., it illustrates aspects of the practice of doctors and pharmacists, the status of patients, and the types of drugs.

it also contributes to know the form of pharmacies approved in the middle ages and the treatments they contained.

not only that, mentioned in pictures reveal to us the method of cooking the medicine and how to prepare it from its plant and animal sources, the shape of the vials used in preserving it and the method of distributing it on the shelves in the pharmacy.

the pictures that decorated some Arabic manuscripts shed light on the methods used in collecting medicinal plants approved for the manufacture of drugs, examining them, weighing, distilling and classifying them, and the tools used in their preparation.

it showed the details of some plants, whether they were leaves, fruits, seeds, stems or roots.

the pictures may have contributed to the knowledge of the clothes of doctors and pharmacists in the Abbasid era.
