The study of morphometric characteristics refers to the use of GIS technology to detect the Khatun basin's morphometric characteristics of cadastral, formal and terrain characteristics and water drainage network characteristics in order to build a geographic information base for the basin and use the digital altitude model, mapping and water drainage network.

the maps were produced in the GIS and contouring maps programme and took various morphometric measurements and made some spatial relationships between the various characteristics of the basin.
