Ihe aim of this study is to examine the role of the historian Polybius, the author of the history book, as one of the most prominent classical sources that wrote the history of the ancient Maghreb, but his loyalty to the Romans and his passion for serving them opened a wide field for discussion about His objectivity and his approach in dealing with all the issues and historical events that the ancient Maghreb society went through.

He wrote about the military history of the region from 264 BC to 146 BC.

But his loyalty to the Romans and his victory for Roman politics, was behind directing his position on the history and peoples of the ancient Maghreb, so he glorified everything that is Roman and diminished everything that is African.
