English Abstract

This study aimed at identifying the impact of applying governance (Transparency, participation, law sovereignty, accountability and justice) on combating corruption (financial and administrative) in the departments of internal surveillance in the Jordanian ministries.

In order to achieve the study objectives, the researcher used the analytical descriptive approach by relying on the primary and secondary resources in order to prepare the theoretical framework and then collect data via developing a specific questionnaire designed for this purpose.

The study population consisted of the employees working in the internal surveillance departments in the Jordanian ministries with a total of )55(ministries.

A simple random sample was chosen; it included five ministries and a total of (1650) employees working in the internal surveillance departments.

Then, a regular random sample was chosen with a total of (350) employees, to whom (350) questionnaires were delivered by hand, and only (310) of them were returned and valid for the statistical analysis, with a percentage of (88.5%).

The data were analyzed using a number of the statistical methods.

The results showed that there is a high degree of applying the dimensions of governance in the Jordanian ministries.

The results also revealed that the conceptualizations of the study sample individuals concerning the prevalence of corruption were low.

The results showed that there is a statistically significant impact for governance with its dimensions (transparency, participation, law sovereignty,accountability and justice) on combating corruption as well as a statistically significant impact for governance in combating corruption (financial and administrative).

In the light of the results, the study recommended the necessity of continuing the enhancement of governance principles in the Jordanian ministries, where the results revealed that there is a high level of applying governance principles in the studied Jordanian ministries.
