Abstract EN

Letters of credit are considered as one of the most important forms of bank credit that banks provide to serve their customers, the paper aims to identify the role and importance of the letters of credit in financing private domestic investment in Iraq based on the premise that there is a positive role for letters of credit as a tool for pledge credit in stimulating the private local investment in Iraq.

The paper includes three parts that address the first part: the letters of credit and private local investment in terms of definition and importance, and the second part is concerned with analyzing letters of credit and private local investment in Iraq for the period (2004 - 2018), and the third part focuses on measuring the impact of letters of credit on the private local investment in Iraq for the period between (2004 - 2018) with approval standard method through the use of the program (SPSS vr.20).
