Abstract EN

This paper represents an academic attempt to study the phenomenon of book destruction and its doctrinal repercussions in the Abbasid era as the main aim of study as one of the negative phenomena prevalent in the Abbasid era, which had serious effects on the Islamic history and Islamic civilization, as it cost Islam the loss of the mothers of books and their preciousness.

Thus, the current work on has provided a historical overview of the beginnings of this phenomenon and its depth in the Islamic history along with an explanation of the nature of the destruction, its definition and types, and the reasons for the destruction and its causes; in addition to what impact it had on the intellectual side of Islam in general.

The study has reached a set of conclusions ending the study.
