Abstract EN

The study aimed to developing the properties of ceramic body’s which firing in low degree through increasing hardness, reduce fluid absorption, acidic resistance, beside to making applications of methods for building ceramic shapes and determine of the ability to form mixtures.

the study take the available local materials as basic samples which is kaolin sample of Marawei area, potassium feldspar and quartz sample of garea area north Khartoum and agricultural clay soil sample of Khartoum area plus glass cullet.

ball mill and standard sieves were used.

different mixtures was prepared and ceramic bodies were made of it and dryed then it was fired in furnace between 1100 to 1160 c degree.

characteristics were monitored and measured, then it was compared by porcelain properties.

the study demonstrated the possibility of obtaining bodies such as porcelain bu introducing glass cullet in the rate of 15 % to 25 % to reduce the temperature of maturity.
