Abstract EN

The study aimed to present the communicative function of public relations in promoting health awareness programs, identifying the role of the department of health in Gadaref state.

the study used the descriptive analytical approach to attain results, used questionnaire as main tool in additional to the interview and observation.

the study came to a set of results, the most important of which are : health awareness programs have contributed in changing the pattern of the recipient's behavior to healthy one.

the study also found out that radio stations are the most used means by the public relations department to implement its health programs by 60%.

moreover the study emphasized that the most significant health messages received by the community are related to the environmental health.

the recommendations of the study emphasizes on the needs of the rehabilitation and training of the human resources, and rehabilitation of work environment which has an effective role in raising moral and creativity among workers in the field of health promotion.

also choosing the right timing for the implementation of its programs , taking into consideration the customs and traditions of the community , using appropriate local dialects in additional to the use of modern technology to keep up with development of health work.
