Terrorism is usually associated with religion, and here we mean the Islamic religion, specifically the followers of the Sunni sect.

In a great confusion between religion and religiosity, an entire religion is stigmatized as terrorism.

The research paper aims to identify the main drivers of terrorism and violence in the Arab world.

The study concluded that political tyranny and failure to build an independent national state and achieve development, and the exploitation of local / global powers for some patterns of religiosity in the Arab region, are the factors affecting the spread of violence and terrorism, not religion or religiosity, to be more precise.

This result appears when looking at the political history of the region, armed movements and global events, which coincided with waves of violence and terrorism in the region
