The legal system for controlling economic activity in the mining field has witnessed a remarkable development through the establishment of the National Agency for Mining Properties and the National Agency for Geology and Mining Control in 2001 as two independent administrative authorities, each with independent competencies in controlling and monitoring mining activities in accordance with the conditions Procedural and technical stipulated by law.

The legal nature of the two agencies has changed with the issuance of a new law regulating this field in 2014 to establish two agencies that constitute an extension of its predecessors, enjoying legal personality and financial independence, and are not subject to the rules applicable to management, which made them characterized by a commercial and industrial nature.

All this prompts us to discuss the impact of this legal development's reflection on controlling economic activity in the mining field and the extent to which its texts keep pace with the rapid development of this activity.
