Ethiopia, an African country, has known bitter internal conflicts due to ethnic and national differences that have been subjected to politicization and militarization over long periods.

Since the current Ethiopian Prime Minister came to power, relations between the federal government and the Tigray region have been strained, causing the situation to deteriorate and things to develop into a military war that is still raging, threatening the fragile coexistence in the country and the political balances based on ethnicity.

This study, using the descriptive approach, monitors the geopolitical and historical importance of Ethiopia, its national and ethnic composition and the roots of the conflict between them, in addition to the background of the conflict between the federal government and the Tigray region, its path and its mechanisms, while predicting scenarios about the future prospects for this conflict.
