The emergence of China as an economic power as well as other emerging countries is causing international tensions as the international currency becomes a hegemonic instrument and takes on a political aspect deeper than its traditional functions.
This study enumerates the causes of this conflict including that of the exorbitant privilege, the gains of seigniorage and the emergence of new economic and military powers.
It suggests that the SMI will organize itself around three currencies and this bi-centric world will be subject to a tripolar influence between "dollar, euro and yuan".

L'émergence de la chine comme puissance économique ainsi que d'autres pays émergents suscite des tensions internationales au moment où la monnaie internationale devient un instrument hégémonique et se revêt d'un aspect politique plus profond que ses fonctions traditionnelles.
Cette étude énumère les causes de ce conflit notamment celui du privilège exorbitant, les gains de seigneuriage et l'émergence de nouvelles puissance économico-militaires.
Elle suggère que le SMI va s'organiser autour de trois monnaies et ce monde bi-centrique sera soumis à une influence tripolaire entre «Dollar, euro et yuan».
