Abstract EN

The present study, aimed to assess the cognitive deficit of the "semantic memory" of autistic children, using the descriptive approach and the application of the semantic test (semantic organization and recovery) on a sample of twenty children (20) children with moderate autism and simple autism, integrated in the center of Bab El-Kheir in Bir-Khadem (Algiers).

The results showed the following: 1.

The existence of statistically significant differences in the activity of semantic memory - semantic organization process - (the intruder and categorization) between simple autistic children and average autistic children, and this, in favor of simple autistic children.

The existence of statistically significant differences in the activity of semantic memory - recovery process - (denomination and semantic fluence) between simple autistic children and average autistic children, and this, in favor of simple autistic children.
