This study aims to try to identify the image of the liberation war on Algerian television in terms of form, content, style and characters.

this study belongs to critical studies that depend on the case study methodology, through the Algerian film “periodical towards the east” by director “Ammar al-Askari” for the extent of its fame.

this film, and this study came out with several results, the most important of which are: the film presented several important facts and information about the liberation war, as the film’s characters in general explained the reality of Algerian society during the French colonial period in general, in which the general public used to help the mujahideen in various forms with the aim of defeating the French colonialism.
