Abstract EN

This research paper aims at disclosing the effects of Corona Virus pandemic on the use of social media according to the Algerian media and communication professors' point of view and the most crucial suggestions coming from them for optimum and effective use of these sites.

Based on descriptive- analytical approach, and intentional sample; with the electronic questionaire.

The data indicated a change in the habits and patterns of social media use since the spread of the Corona pandemic, plus to an inconsistency between its positive and negative effects which range between health awareness of the risks of the virus, and spreading false news and promoting conspiracy theory.
