Abstract EN

This article presents an analytical framework for special economic Zones (SEZs) as an effective mechanism used around the world for community development; as integrated zones that include many economic activities.

The importance of these zones is evident in the fact that they represent effective development centers, and their ability to attract production factors (including capital, labor, and advanced technologies).

This is an addition, the role of the special economic zones as global zones, and the attendant economic and social transformation that have contributed to achieving sustainable development.

To achieve this objective, the researcher tried in this article presents and analyze the theoretical rooting of the concept of special economic zones and their types, determining their origin and development, as well as defining their objectives, in addition to defining their criteria establishment, as well as presenting some of their successful experiences international.
