Abstract EN

This research paper tries to examine the independent Algerian state's Arabization issue and its effects on the French Algerian relations that were established by the Evian Agreements, which were signed between the two countries in 1962, and the contradictions and conflict inginterests it carried for both sides.

There is a clear dedication to the French language in Algeria, but the Algerian authorities, for their part, have endeavored to smoothly roll back these agreements that did not even refer to the Arabic language in the future of independent Algeria.

This is what made sometimes the issue of Arabization pursued by the Algerian state a hidden conflict, and sometimes a declared conflict between Algeria and France on the one hand, and between the Algerian people who support the Arabic language and those who support the French language.
