Our aim behind this article is to provide a summary of the most important representation that have been obtained by scholars, Arab or Western, about the competence of the teacher.

And that comes to the surface whenever a discussion arises on issues related to school in general and the teaching-learning process in particular, and related axes such as goals, effectiveness and others.

Where do we find that each person, whether in permanent contact with the teacher and his work - teachers, students, administration - or Circumstantial - researchers, parents - has his own unique perspective and even his own representation of what the phrase a good or competent teacher has in terms of meaning for each of them.
