Autism spectrum disorder is an early neurodevelopmental disorder that occurs in a child, strongly affecting their cognitive psychological functioning and their social and emotional functioning.

although it is one of the syndromes that has greatly contributed to the establishment of child psychiatry.

despite its development in neurobiological research, it is still the subject of debate and controversy at all levels, whether it concerns its diagnostic or epidemiological characteristics, its causal approaches or those of rehabilitation and approaches therapies.

therefore, through this contribution and with the data currently available, we will try to understand as much as possible the different aspects of the controversy associated with autism spectrum disorders.
