Abstract EN

The current study aimed to know the relationship between optimism and coping strategies, as well as the most commonly used coping strategies among women with primary infertility.

the study used the descriptive approach.

the sample included (50) women with primary infertility.

the optimism scale (Abdul-Khaleq) and coping strategies scale (Paulhan et al) were used.

the results showed that: there is no statistically significant correlation between optimism and problem-solving strategy, avoidance with positive thoughts strategy, self-blame strategy.

there is a negative and statistically significant correlation between optimism and seeking social support strategy.

there is a statistically significant correlation between optimism and positive reappraisal strategy.

there is alternation in the use of problem focused coping strategies and emotion focused coping strategies in the study sample.
