The current study aimed to investigate the relationship between perfectionism, self-esteem and depression among obese people, and the differences in neurotic perfectionism, self-esteem and depression among obese people according to the variables : gender, age, educational level, and economics.

the importance of the study in its attempt to identify the psychological problems of increasing obesity to reach excessive obesity, which is the stage that we must pay attention to and direct research to because of the danger in the lives of our young men and daughters, as well as identifying the relationship of neurotic perfectionism to self-esteem in light of some variables, including: gender age, educational level, and economic level.

to achieve the objectives of the study, the researcher followed the descriptive approach on a sample of obese people who are undergoing treatment for obesity in psychiatric clinics, slimming and cosmetic centers, and weight disorders.

Rosenberg self-esteem scale3.

depression scale-Ahmed Mohamed Abdel Moneim 2010 the most important results of the study were as follows : 1.

there is a statistically significant relationship between neurotic perfectionism and self-esteem among obese people from the study sample.

there is a statistically significant relationship between neurotic perfectionism and depression among obese people from the study sample.

there are statistically significant differences in neurotic perfectionism, self-esteem and depression among obese people from the study sample due to the gender variable.

4.

there are no statistically significant differences in neurotic perfectionism, self-esteem and depression among obese people from the study sample due to the age variable.

5.

there are no statistically significant differences in neurotic perfectionism, self-esteem and depression among obese people from the study sample due to the educational level variable.

6.

there are no statistically significant differences in neurotic perfectionism, self-esteem and depression among obese people from the study sample due to the economic level variable.
