Abstract EN

After the Second World War, many peoples opted for national liberation in order to put an end to colonial domination.

The majority of these peoples, among them the Algerians, had chosen military force to gain independence and this at a time where the international community had become for the right to self-determination through the legal and political coverage represented by a set of international instruments and charters, in particular, the Charter of the United Nations and the four Geneva Conventions of 1949 which have considered the Algerian revolution as a movement of national liberation which served as a spring board for a legal revolution when it posed the problem of adaptation of armed conflicts in the world.
