Abstract EN

The aim of this study was to unveil the role of social networks in promoting the dimensions of digital citizenship among university students, through a field study submitted at the university of Constantine 3, and provide suggestions that can be employed in promoting the dimensions of their digital citizenship.

in order to achieve these objectives, the study used the descriptive research method and the questionnaire as an essential tool for research.

this questionnaire included 42 questions, covering a total of five themes of the most important dimensions of digital citizenship that could be promoted through the use of social networks by university students which are: digital codes of conduct, digital culture, digital security, and digital rights and responsibilities.

it was submitted to a sample of 206 students from the university of Constantine 3.

after the analysis, the results showed that a large proportion of the population agree that social networks have a significant role in promoting the dimensions of digital citizenship among university students.
