Through this paper, we want to shed light on the beginnings of translation studies in the Arab heritage and explain the contributions of Al-Jahiz in this field, and that he is a professor of this ancient science as well as a statement of the primacy of Arab linguists in dealing with these issues, for more than a thousand and two hundred years ago, and that their opinions and ideas in this field Advanced for linguists in America and Europe, they even repeat what the Arsaid in this regard.

For this, we will try, through our research paper, to answer the following questions: How far do Arab linguists contribute to translation, in theory and practice, especially with regard to the big one? What are the concepts related to translation that these people touched upon and found an outlet for in modern translation theories?
