This paper aims to highlight the linguistic atlases completed in modern linguistic research, including western linguistic atlases such as German, French, and other atlases.

it tackled the methodology used to complete those atlases, the maps obtained, and the methods of collecting material and samples, as well as the importance of atlas in linguistic research and modern linguistic studies.

the paper also addressed some Arab linguists’ attempts to accomplish Arabic language atlases such as the Syrian atlas, the Palestinian Atlas, and others, and how it is accomplished.
