Abstract EN

In the Holy Qur’an the al-Mala’ (the public of disbelievers) possessed the authority of narration, but they did not possess the authority of the apparent argument.

they proceeded at the behest of their physical influence and for the purposes of preserving it, debating the prophets and their followers.

however, they were an evasive debaters disguised behind goodness and the will to reform and ward off the evil that will afflict societies as a result of the emergent prophetic calls.

they concealed a hidden will to struggle against prophets, whose honorable messages threatened their worldly authority and their pragmatic intentions.

this study will answer its pivotal question: how are the disguised apparent and the hidden interior manifested in the verses that contained the discourse of al-mala’? this discourse, which is the subject of this application and which uses the methodology of cultural/systemic criticism, seeks to expose cultural tricks and their disguised import.

as cultural criticism adopted in schools and critical curricula works to reach its goals and produce knowledge, this study will accordingly be based on linguistic criticism and on the theory of argumentation to reveal the rational barrenness that characterizes the speech of al-Mala’ in their struggle with the prophets.

this prompted them to adopt deluding manners that made their speeches look one and the same, a speech that was finally defeated on the intellectual, doctrinal and material levels.
