The pace of women's empowerment to participate in political life, whether at local, regional or international level, is moving in an increasing direction within the hierarchy of interests of political circles and various tendencies of public opinion.

And it has become an indication of the progress of countries and the activation of participatory democracy, especially with the growth of human rights movements in countries of the world and Arab countries.

As a political strategy for women's empowerment, a quota has emerged as one of the main political reforms over the past two decades, as it has been introduced in over 130 countries around the world, and Algeria is one of the few countries in the Arab region to apply the quota for women as a mechanism used to improve representation, Feminist political participation comes in various forms and Algeria has sought to embody it on the ground through constitutional foundations and legislative laws, based to achieve this on the ratification of the most important charters.

Regional and international organizations which guarantee the right to equality between women and men support their representation in political life.
