Waqf properties constitute important urban assets and a vital renewable resource.

Therefore, investingin Waqf realestate has become one of the challenges the authorities in charge of this type of property in Algeriaare encountering, in order to valorizethem and collect an income reflectingtheir real value.

For this reason, theAlgerian legislator passed Decree No.

18-213 in order to setthe rulesfor the exploitation of these properties including the principle of transparency, so as to benefit better of Waqf realestate.

This study sheds light on the proportional setting for the application of transparency principle in investment-oriented Waqf real-estate leaseholds, so as to protect this Islamic heritage aswell as making it contribute in solving some of the many struggles the country is facing.
