Illegal immigration is a transnational global phenomenon with political, social and economic repercussions.

Algeria is one of the countries that suffer from this phenomenon due to its geographical location and armed conflicts in some African countries in particular, and internal, regional and international conditions in general.

Algeria is currently considered as a source and transit country for several reasons, which represent a source of threat to Algerian national security.

Algeria is trying to address the phenomenon according to a comprehensive security approach within a regional and international framework.
