This study aims to address the fundamental theoretical concepts, on which the sociology of literature of "P.

Zima” and the socio-criticism of Claude Duchet are based on, given that both of them have sociology in common.

the question that arises is whether the method of "sociology of literature" and that of "socio-criticism" join and find each other, or are they two completely different methods in terms of concepts, mechanisms, etc?.

in order to answer this question, we devote this study to clarifying the problematic of the socio-textual / critical method in "P.

Zima" and "C.

Duchet", revealing the points of convergence and divergence between them, although they share a common reference.

on one side, the social and the literary features and the inevitability of the social aspect of the text for Zima, and on the other side, the artistic vision of the construction of the text and its social charge for "Duchet", two different visions.
