Abstract EN

Child protection domains and systems are so many that they include the most important one that is alternative care.

This system provides care for children who are deprived from parental or familial care.

Care is provided by shelters or alternatives families.

This study aims at examining the extent to which this program proved fruitful, and to know whether alternative care can really substitute real families.

Findings show that despite its positives, alternative care can never substitute the child family and that the priority must always be for the real family of the child before the alternative one.

If the real family is not found, the alternative must provide affection, care.
