The Belt and Road is a transcontinental development initiative that seeks to enhance economic cooperation and trade exchange between different regions of the world, and Africa enjoys an important place within it.

For this reason, the study seeks to examine the reality of the initiative, by identifying the motives and objectives of China's involvement in Africa, while listing the set of challenges facing the initiative and possible bets for its success.

The study concluded that despite the challenges, the initiative has become a framework for the convergence of mutual benefits, allowing China to expand its investment bases, and providing Africa with an opportunity to achieve development, and this requires China and African countries to confront these challenges for the success and continuity of the initiative.
