Abstract EN

Burn-out is an insidious and paradoxical syndrome that is affecting more and more midwives.

This profession, which has always been synonymous with wisdom and knowledge, is now tending to become a burden, even a suffering for these fairies of life.

Faced with an ever-increasing workload, the pain and cries of parturients, the occurrence of tragedies such as maternal or fœtal death; this will inevitably have repercussions on the psychological development of midwives.

In our practice we have observed a multitude of midwifery behaviours that reflect this suffering.

This article therefore proposes to verify the presence of burn-out among midwives in the maternity ward of the CHU of Bejaia by using the research interview and the MBI with the proposal of a program to prevent this suffering at work.
