Abstract EN

The study aimed to shed light on the evaluation of the state of e-government in Algeria according to the United Nations index, where during the COVID-19 pandemic it witnessed a noticeable deterioration, resulting in terrible overcrowding and queues of citizens crowding the windows, despite the measures of prevention, distance, and total or partial urbanization in most of the states of the country.

the study found that Algeria jumped by several ranks in 2020 compared to 2018, where it came in number 120.

this was confirmed by the results of the studies carried out by the United Nations according to the global e-government development index for 2020.

in order to shift further toward an effective e-government, the obstacles it faces must be overcome through strategies of improving the ICT infrastructure, as well as caring for human resources and trying to develop its capacity to adapt to modern technologies.
