Abstract EN

Algeria has gone a long way in the field of defending human rights, and perhaps the most important thing that proves this is the legal provisions that the Criminal Procedures Law has brought to protect the rights of the arrested, as they are known in the international conventions that Algeria has ratified.

In my study, I will focus on the right of the arrested person to look at the stage of initial investigations to contact the family and the right to medical examination in light of the Criminal Procedures Law and comparing the latter with foreign criminal legislation, to determine the extent of Algeria's keenness to abide by its international obligations in the field of human rights.

All this according to an analytical and comparative approach.
